Ms. Shane Blandford was named principal at Indian Head Elementary School in 2018. Ms. Blandford began her career with Charles County Public Schools in 1999 as a teacher at Dr. Samuel A. Mudd Elementary School where she served for seven years. She also taught at William B. Wade Elementary School for nine years. She spent the last three years as vice principal at Mary H. Matula Elementary School. She began her teaching career in 1995 at KinderCare Learning Center teaching the accredited Kindergarten program. Prior to joining CCPS, Ms. Blandford was a teacher at St. Philip the Apostle Elementary School in Camp Springs, Md.
Ms. Blandford has a Bachelors of Arts degree in elementary education from Benedictine College, and a Master of Science degree in curriculum and instruction from McDaniel College.
As principal, Ms. Blandford looks forward to building relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community to ensure that all students are provided a well-rounded education so that they are college and career ready.
